On September 20th, the West Laurens Anchor Club braided jump ropes to be donated to Operation Christmas Child. The jump ropes are created from donated t-shirts. The shirts are cut into strips and the strips are braided into 7ft ropes. The ropes will be included in the shoeboxes sent around the world with the Operation Christmas Child program. The Anchors plan to do this project for October as well. They set a goal to complete 40 jump ropes this year.

A Georgia Tech Representative will be at West Laurens High School on Wednesday, September 27^th at 9:00 a.m. to meet with interested juniors and seniors.   You must sign up in the counselors' office to attend the meeting.

The Life Worthy Blessings Homeless Ministry Scholarship was created with being a blessing to others in mind.  Each year, L.W.B. HM will award ONE selected graduating West Laurens High School senior a $1,000 scholarship.  The selected student must show that they have reached their graduating class through all adversity and all odds stacked against them.  Applications are open from August 1st - December 1, 2023.   This award will be presented at Honors Night. The Coca-Cola Scholars Program scholarship is an achievement-based scholarship awarded to students in their final year of high school.  Students are recognized for their capacity to lead and serve, as well as their commitment to making a significant impact on their schools and communities.  The 2024 application is now open for students who will graduate during the 2023-2024 academic year.   The deadline to apply is October 2, 2023.  Follow this link for more information and to apply. https://www.coca-colascholarsfoundation.org/apply/?authuser=0
